I do believe that these photos were taken inside Charles's apartment in celebration of one thing or another. James is doing his classic pose of hand behind his back, chicken wing arm. This warms my heart. Let us hope that James will be back in Charles's apartment drink in hand soon.
ReplyDeleteJames here is giving a beautiful improv toast to Charles. I’m right behind his drinking elbow in this photo. This speech that he gave was one for the ages, and I have always remembered that. And, Jenny, your love story with James is really one for the ages too, and may we all continue to watch it grow.

ReplyDeleteJennie, I'm Jennifer, Charles' sister. I carry these pictures of James on my phone. He goes everywhere I do. He is in my back pocket, my backpack, sitting at my elbow right now. He's been carried around for over a year. Mostly, he is in my heart, though, as are you and Imogene. He is the memory of a warm celebration and the reminder of the beautiful, smart, creative and eloquent friends with whom my brother has surrounded himself. I pray for James and am in awe at your strength and grace witnessed in these posts. Love to you and yes... let's hope he's back at Charles' and all his regular spots, soon.
